An experienced public affairs and advocacy professional based in Washington, DC, Brendan Neal has served as the managing director at Neal Strategies since 2020. His activities in this role involve providing strategic leadership and campaign execution to clients in multiple industries. Brendan Neal has successfully lobbied Congress on behalf of numerous clients, particularly in areas of appropriations and energy.

Before establishing his firm, Mr. Neal spent eight years as director of US public affairs at TC Energy, leading national and state-level initiatives in 38 states. His efforts in the energy infrastructure sector resulted in successful projects with a combined value of some $18 billion. He organized and executed national lobby strategies while leading 40-person teams of public affairs professionals and contract lobbyists. Mr. Neal also gained experience managing multimillion-dollar state and local government affairs budgets.

Brendan Neal’s earlier career positions include an aide to United States Senator John Kerry, deputy finance director for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, and coordinator for the Massachusetts Democratic Party, during which time he directed the 2002 Get Out the Vote campaign. He has further championed LGBTQ+ causes as a member of the Q Street board and the DC Equality Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Neal’s personal interests include weightlifting, caring for his Portuguese water dogs, and spending time on Cape Cod.
